Personal data requested during navigation on the SLS Panamá website will be processed in accordance with the purposes related to the company’s corporate purpose, particularly to respond to inquiries received through this channel and to send relevant information via email newsletters.

The personal and contact information collected will be stored in SLS Panamá’s database for the duration of a contractual or legal relationship with the data subject, and in any case for a maximum of 20 years after the relationship ends, solely for the purpose of fulfilling legal archiving obligations, responding to authorities, and/or for statistical purposes.

As the data subject, you have the right to access, update, and correct your personal data; request the revocation of authorization and/or the deletion of your data when processing does not respect constitutional or legal rights; and access your data free of charge. Objective

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to establish general guidelines for the protection and processing of personal data within the company, thereby strengthening trust between the Data Controller and Data Subjects regarding the handling of information. It also informs Data Subjects about the purposes and possible data transfers, as well as mechanisms for exercising their rights.

Scope

This policy applies to all databases and/or files containing personal data processed by SLS Panamá, as the data controller.

Rights of Data Subjects

Data subjects are entitled to the following rights, in addition to those granted by law:

  • Access, update, and correct their personal data in the hands of the Controller or Processors.

  • Request proof of the authorization granted, unless legally exempt.

  • Be informed about the use of their personal data upon request.

  • Revoke authorization and/or request data deletion when processing fails to respect constitutional or legal principles.

  • Access their personal data free of charge.

Authorization by the Data Subject

SLS Panamá will collect the prior and informed authorization of the data subject, which may be obtained by any means that allows for future consultation.

Cases Where Authorization is Not Required

Authorization is not required when:

  • Data is requested by a public or administrative authority in the exercise of legal duties or by court order.

  • Data is of a public nature.

  • Processing is necessary due to a medical or health emergency.

  • Data processing is authorized by law for historical, statistical, or scientific purposes.

  • Data is related to the Civil Registry.

Duties of SLS Panamá as Data Controller

As the data controller, SLS Panamá will comply with the following duties:

  • Request and retain a copy of the data subject’s authorization under legal conditions.

  • Properly inform the data subject of the purpose of data collection and their rights.

  • Safeguard the information with necessary security measures to prevent alteration, loss, or unauthorized access.

  • Ensure data provided to processors is accurate, complete, verifiable, and understandable.

  • Update the information and promptly notify the processor of any changes.

  • Correct inaccurate data and inform the processor accordingly.

  • Provide the processor only with data authorized for processing under the law.

  • Demand processors respect the confidentiality and security of the data at all times.

  • Adopt an internal manual of policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.

  • Inform processors if the data is under dispute by the data subject.

  • Inform the data subject about the use of their data upon request.

  • Notify the data protection authority of any security breaches that may pose risks to data management.

International Transfer and Transmission of Personal Data

SLS Panamá currently does not engage in international data transfer or transmission. If such action is taken in the future, it will require the express and unequivocal authorization of the data subject and will ensure appropriate levels of data protection.

If SLS Panamá decides to carry out international data transmission, it may do so without prior consent, provided it ensures data security, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable regulations.

Minors

SLS Panamá does not directly process personal data of minors. In cases where such data is collected, appropriate authorization will be obtained from legal guardians, ensuring the best interest and rights of children and adolescents.

Policy Modification

SLS Panamá reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated in a timely manner to data subjects through regular contact methods, at least ten (10) business days before taking effect.

If a data subject disagrees with the new policy and has valid reasons constituting just cause, they may request the removal of their data via email at corporate@slsmain.com. However, data subjects may not request the deletion of their personal data when SLS Panamá has a legal or contractual obligation to retain it.
